A cancer survivor whose treatment and subsequent stress and anxiety caused her to age prematurely shared her joy after looking twenty years younger through a professional makeover.
Sylvia, 64, from Newcastle, explained on 10 Years Younger this evening in 10 days that she was diagnosed with skin cancer ten years ago and suffered from Alopecia, a form of hair loss caused by anxiety caused by her husband’s death.
Embarrassed to go bald, Sylvia, socially and dynamically, began to fear going out.
She explained on the Channel 5 show with Cherry Healey that she felt her cancer scars and wrinkles made her feel and look older than she actually was, and people called her age at least 70, six years older than her age .
But after ten days of advanced beauty treatments in the hands of a team of renowned specialists, Sylvia got the confidence she needed.
The transformation made the mother of three look 50, 14 years younger than her actual age, and 20 years younger than people previously thought.

At the beginning of the episode, Sylvia explained that she saw a “scarred and wrinkled woman who looked like 70” when she looked in the mirror.
“Before I had skin cancer, my skin was beautiful and smooth, a few freckles now and then, ”she said.
But since they removed it, the skin remains marked and drawn. IIf I could get rid of a few wrinkles and scars, it would be a super, super, super boost, ”she added.
During a visit to the practice of Dr. Tapan Patel was the mother of three injected with dermal fillers to give more structure to her cheekbones and the bottom of her face.
She was also injected with some Botox to fill some of the strongest wrinkles along her forehead.
Sylvia burst into tears of joy when she saw the results, especially her thick lips, which she said “disappeared” because of her sagging skin.
The mom of three had restored her hair and confidence during the makeover show, which took off her face for decades (pictured below)
“I just feel a million dollars, I feel rejuvenated,” she said.
The mother of three children was extremely self-aware that she had no eyebrows and suffered severe hair loss on her skull due to alopecia.
Alopecia causes the hair to fall out, thin out or fall out. In the same cases, the hair grows back, but the process can take a long time. In some cases, the hair has disappeared forever.
It was caused by the death of her dear husband, who had a profound impact on Sylvia’s mental health.
“I can’t even describe the pain, it was like being in a tunnel and there was no one else,” she said.
She first visited skin therapist Nilam Holmes, who had her tattooed with a tasteful pair of eyebrows. Despite her initial caveat in tattooing, Sylvia was very happy with the results.
It took a long time to repair her hair, which had been thinned by the alopecia and had fallen around her skull.
Sylvia’s daughters couldn’t believe how well she made the transformation. After the makeover, people put Sylvia’s age at 50, 14 years younger than she actually was (photo: one of Sylvia’s daughters)
She was then treated for a procedure that normally cost between £ 1,200 and £ 2,500, weaving her natural hair with excellent quality during a 6-hour treatment.
The hair was then styled by famous hairstylist John Vial before Sylvia continued with the rest of her makeover.
After her wardrobe got an age-appropriate update and her makeup skin updated, it was time for the mom of three to see her new look.
She was speechless at first through the transformation, until the excitement took over and she started screaming and jumping around, unable to take her eyes off the mirror.
What is Alopecia?
Alopecia refers to a type of hair loss that affects individuals.
There are different types of hair loss.
Alopecia areata mainly affects children and young adults and results in hair loss. In 90 percent of the cases, the hair comes back.
Alopecia universalis ensures that all body hair falls out, including eyebrows and eyelashes.
Telogen effluvium temporarily causes some of the scalp, due to changes in the hair’s growth cycle, causing loss and thinning.
“Oh my god,” she shouted.
“I never could have looked like that,” she told Cherry.
“This is what I should look like,” she added. “I feel beautiful and the confidence this has done for me, no one can ever replace it.
‘The feeling of looking much longer makes the inside feel a lot younger.
“I feel absolutely radiant, I know I’m glowing, my new hair has completely changed everything.
“This experience has given me the positivity to move forward and feel beautiful and actually look beautiful.
“The future looks bright, looks bright and looks positive, and it’s the first time in many years that I’ve said that,” she added.
Sylvia’s daughters were moved to tears by their mother’s renewed confidence and stylish new look.
Before the makeover, people put Sylvia’s age at 70, six years older than she actually was, but after her transformation, her average age returned to 50, 14 years younger than she actually was.
