A man shared his surprise after Reddit users were able to guess his late father’s location from an old black and white photograph.

The user, from London, shared a photo of his father, who died 30 years ago, on Reddit.

The individual estimated that the photograph was taken in London sometime in the late 1950s or early 1960s.

However, they were puzzled as to where the exact location of the snap was, perhaps unable to identify it.

But within minutes someone managed to pinpoint the exact location and shared a photo of what it looked like today.

“Can anyone help us determine where this could have been taken?” wrote the user, who goes by the name Shifty Howe.

“I don’t have much to say other than it was in London after my father was demobilized from national service, which happened some time after the Suez Canal crisis…

“So I’m guessing the picture is from the late ’50s and early ’60s.”

While the original poster couldn’t determine where it was taken, others were quick to point out an important monument that gave a big clue.
