Braith Anasta was left slightly blushing after learning his speech on the Fox Sports NRL show was derailed by a racy advert in the background.
Anasta was flown to Las Vegas ahead of the start of the 2024 NRL season in Sin City, with football bosses making an ambitious bid to capture a lucrative US audience.
The former football star hosted NRL360’s first show of the season from Las Vegas alongside Paul Kent, Gorden Tallis and Buzz Rothfield, and previously addressed an audience of football tragics about the magnitude of the event.
But in an unfortunate sequence of events, a truck with a billboard on the side pulled up behind Anasta while she was giving her speech.
The billboard displayed an ad saying “escorts direct to you” along with a phone number.

Sharing an image of the unfortunate scene, Anasta posted on Instagram: “Unfortunate moment with the backdrop.”
But otherwise it was a perfect night for the NRL contingent in Sin City ahead of the weekend’s action.
ARLC boss Peter V’landys laid out his plans to grow football in the United States before Anasta, Kent, Rothfield and Tallis shared their enthusiasm for the Las Vegas boom.
“It’s pretty special, isn’t it?” Kent said. “I’ve been covering the game for a long time and I’ve never seen anything like it. I’m pretty impressed with the vibe around it and how people are responding to it.”
Away from Fox Sports, Channel Nine’s Danika Mason is in Las Vegas to report on the first games of the season.

Interestingly, Mason walked down the aisle at a Las Vegas chapel in a bizarre segment on Tuesday night’s news.
Sea Eagles star Jake Trbojevic announced his engagement to Alix Waddell during the offseason, leading the Channel 9 news team to visit the archetypal Las Vegas wedding venue in a cheeky stunt.
Mason handled the strange encounter well and was serenaded by an Elvis Presley impersonator when he reached the end of the hallway.
