Campbell Hatton admits he has ‘no arguments’ after boxing sensation and son of legendary fighter Ricky Hatton suffers first loss of his career to James Flint in shock result

Campbell Hatton has admitted he has “no argument” after suffering the first defeat of his career.

The 23-year-old, son of boxing legend Ricky Hatton, had won his previous 14 fights before his fight with James Flint for the Central Area super lightweight title.

Although Hatton was expected to prevail, he ended up suffering a surprising defeat in Sheffield, and Flint retained his title after a unanimous points decision.

Flint won by scores of 98-92, 97-94 and 97-95 in an entertaining match.

Hatton stated that he will learn from the fight and says he is eager to get back in the ring as soon as possible.

Speaking after the fight, Hatton said: “I stuck to the plan from the start, but I have no arguments, he came on strong.”

‘I think I did enough but I didn’t argue. I just have to learn.

‘I would love to do that again. All respect to Jimmy Joe.’

Hatton was also keen to point out that he is not only gaining recognition in boxing thanks to his father.

He said: “I hope I’ve shown some people that I’m more than a silver spoon, that I can go deep.”

Flint emphasized that Campbell will be able to bounce back quickly from the loss.

He said: “Well done to Campbell, he will be back, he is a great fighter who will be back.”
