Camila Cabello criticizes haters who criticized her body in this crop top

Camila Cabello has always spread a message of self-acceptance through her music, and now the star is doing the same in her personal life by standing up to body-shamers. In a new TikTok, the “My Oh My” singer hit back at critics, letting them know she has no intention of stopping living her life, even if she occasionally faces unwarranted judgment for doing so.

“I was just running in the park, minding my own business, trying to be” to fit, try to keep it healthy. And I’m wearing a top that shows my belly and I didn’t put it on. Because I was running and existing like a normal person who doesn’t always tuck it in!” she explained after multiple news outlets posted photos of her mid-workout.

However, after some momentary reflection, Cabello decided it wasn’t worth her time to let the check sink in. “I reminded myself: being at war with your body is so last season.”

Instead, Cabello chose to praise her body and all the amazing things it is capable of.

“I’m thankful for this body that lets me do what I need to do,” she explained. “We’re real curvy women and cellulite and stretch marks and fat and we have to own that baby!”

Although Cabello is an avid exerciser today, she has admitted in the past that she didn’t always have such an active lifestyle. In an interview in 2015 with 2015 press party, the singer revealed that she had never played sports before joining Fifth Harmony.

“I remember the first 20 minutes because I had never exercised in my life and I literally threw up,” she told the publication.

This isn’t the first time Cabello has opened up about the criticism she regularly receives. In an interview in 2019 with NME, the star said limiting her use of social media was a “good mental health choice”.

“When I feel myself on Instagram, I feel dirty. I feel sick. I want to delete it because it makes me too self-conscious and it makes me feel weird. I’m like, uh. It’s like [there’s] something in me that’s like, ‘I don’t want you to live your life that way,’ you know?
