Call The Midwife star Helen George shows off her dark side on a shopping trip to East London
Best known to viewers as the blonde Trixie Franklin on Call The Midwife, actress Helen George cuts quite a different figure in real life.
Our pictures show the 38-year-old sporting a brunette look during a shopping trip in East London.
Her hair wasn’t the only thing that changed: instead of the bag of medical accessories her on-screen character is often seen clutching, Ms George opted for a £1,440 chain wallet from design house Yves Saint Laurent.
He also wore a pair of £125 Nike Performance Metcon 8 sneakers.
One viewer commented: ‘Helen looked so different to how we’re used to seeing her on TV, almost unrecognizable, in fact. But of course, she was still as flashy as ever.
The actress, seen leaving a bank during a shopping trip in East London, swapped out Trixie’s blonde locks for a darker look.
She is known as the popular Trixie in the Call The Midwife series. In the finale of the last episode, her character marries Matthew Aylward.

Born in Birmingham, George studied musical theater at the Royal Academy of Music and previously worked as a backing vocalist, touring with Sir Elton John.
The mother of two girls with her Call The Midwife co-star and fellow Jack Ashton, who played Reverend Tom Hereward, finished sixth in the 2015 series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Other screen credits include roles in Red Dwarf and Hollyoaks, and in May 2020 she sang (There’ll Be Bluebirds Over) The White Cliffs Of Dover at Buckingham Palace in a BBC broadcast marking the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
