The California State Capitol buildings have been evacuated due to a bomb threat.

All senators and their staff have been ordered to leave the buildings in Sacramento while authorities determine whether the threat is legitimate or not.

State Senator Susan Rubio confirmed that everyone was ordered to leave the building ABC-30.

Employees were told to work from home and Governor Gavin Newsom has been declared safe, according to ABC News reporter Alex Stone.

Newsom is “far away from (the) area,” Stone said.

California Highway Patrol is searching the building for any threats.
