A University of California, Davis employee was briefly detained after she was seen aggressively confronting drag performers at a resort in Hawaii.
Beth Bourne, program director at the UC Davis Institute of Transportation Studies, was filmed fuming at the drag queens after seeing them at the Alohilani Resort in Waikīkī, where they were to perform for a pride event.
Bourne, leader of the conservative group Moms for Liberty, became enraged after seeing the drag queens in the lobby and accused the hotel of failing to provide a safe environment for her son.

“I’m sorry, but I paid to be a guest at a hotel where I thought you believed women really existed,” the activist shouted as she raised her phone to record the drag queens.
“Because you wear makeup, you wear high heels, you wear a Barbie outfit… you don’t think this is degrading.
He added: “This is misogyny… if they give me my money back right now, I will leave the hotel, but I will not allow my children to come down from the 30th floor and see what is happening here.”
Bourne then asked the performers their names, saying she wants to know who they are as a hotel employee attempts to escort her.

He said on Instagram: ‘There was a previous conversation with her before what I filmed and she was eventually removed from the property by the police.
‘I would like to say a huge thank you to the resort for their care and concerns during and after, to all of us… those who were witnesses, guests or staff, had a lot of compassion, for which I am very, very grateful…
‘We are all fine. A little shocked and saddened, but grateful to the people we were in company with and everyone who reached out. and continue to maintain faith in humanity.’
Marina Del Rey explained that the group was in the lobby to film a video in which they were seen playing roles as hotel staff.
‘This woman saw us filming and she slowly burned and then exploded. “Her rant went on and on, possibly trying to get an irritated and angry response,” the artist added.
Bourne became an anti-trans activist following the breakdown of her relationship with her non-binary eldest son of two children.

Many social media users have demanded that Bourne be fired from UC Davis following her recorded actions.

Bourne is a controversial figure, claiming, without evidence, on his social media accounts that “1 in 22 kids are trans” at UC Davis.
In response to X’s video, Bourne wrote: ‘I don’t agree with children being exposed to drag queens.
The artists were at the hotel to participate in a Pride month brunch.
‘Several other guests at the Alohilani Hotel told me they also found it offensive, so I spoke to the manager yesterday. The police briefly detained me, they reimbursed me for my hotel expenses, and I don’t regret speaking out.
“If we can be heard, this will end.”
Bourne became an anti-trans activist following the breakdown of her relationship with her non-binary eldest son of two children.
Lily, 18, came out as nonbinary five years ago and moved out of the Bourne house her junior year of high school after clashes over her gender identity, The Sacramento Bee reported.
