Americans have been wondering for days whether Biden would drop out of the race after his disastrous first debate with Donald Trump.

Now Newsom is set to travel to a state that shows the full extent of Biden’s electoral problems.

A new post-debate poll released Monday by St. Anselm College found former President Donald Trump leading Joe Biden by two points in New Hampshire.

The last time a Republican presidential candidate won the state was George W. Bush in 2000.

The event, called the Blue Summer Campaign Kick-Off, is being organized by New Hampshire’s Democratic congressional delegation.

“We look forward to welcoming Governor Newsom to New Hampshire to campaign on behalf of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris as we work to once again defeat Donald Trump,” New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley said in a statement to Fox News.

Newsom, despite speculation, has said flatly that he will “never turn my back on President Biden” and that he is not running a secret campaign.

“I don’t know any Democrat in my party who would do that. And especially after tonight, we support him,” he said.

Instead, he has done everything he can to reassure Americans that the president is still capable.

“I spent a lot of time with him. I know Joe Biden. I know what he’s accomplished in the last three and a half years. I know what he’s capable of. And I have no fears.”

The poll is striking considering Biden beat Trump in the state by more than seven points in 2020.

The poll found Trump leading with 44 percent to Biden’s 42 percent, with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. receiving 4 percent of the vote.

Biden, 81, faltered and staggered through the first presidential debate, losing his train of thought, sounding hoarse and searching for words as a calm Donald Trump dismissed his arguments.

Newsom, 56, told DailyMail.com that claims he could replace Biden, 81, in November were “a farce”.

After the debate, the Democrat said on MSNBC: “We have to go in, we have to hold our heads high, and like I say, we have to have the backing of this president,” Newsom said. “We don’t turn our backs on him for a performance. What kind of party does that?”

But his appearance has sparked claims that the governor was placed in front of the cameras as part of a plan to replace Biden.

Former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said: “What we witnessed tonight was not an accident, it was intentional. Get ready for the next five months of madness.”

Ramaswamy has been floating the theory that the Democratic Party was planning to replace Biden since last year’s Republican debates in November.

At that point he said, addressing the Democratic Party: ‘Let’s end this farce today.’

“Joe Biden is not going to be their candidate. We know he’s not even the president of the United States. He’s a puppet of the management class.

Many have even theorized that the Democratic Party wanted Biden to perform poorly from the start to create an exit strategy that would lead to Newsom becoming the nominee.

Much of the post-debate weekend attention has focused on the Biden family, who gathered at Camp David to discuss their patriarch’s political future, while big donors and celebrity supporters plot their own courses of action.

The family has offered unequivocal support to the president and has even wondered how they can get more involved, with his troubled son Hunter insisting his father fight to get back into the race.

But many have begun to shift blame, citing poor preparation by Biden’s advisers for the debate against Donald Trump and that time is of the essence as Democrats panic over their post-Atlanta poll decline.
