Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has spoken out after liking Taylor Swift’s Instagram post in which the 14-time Grammy winner formally endorsed Kamala Harris for president.
Minutes after Tuesday’s presidential debate between Harris and Donald Trump ended, Swift posted her endorsement and Clark liked the post half an hour after it went public.
Clark’s fans shouldn’t take her liking Swift’s post as a direct endorsement of the Democratic presidential nominee, as she herself did not formally endorse Harris on Wednesday.
“I think for myself, because I have this amazing platform,” Clark began explaining why she liked the “Anti-Hero” singer’s post. “So I think the biggest thing would be to just encourage people to register to vote.”
“I think for me, this is the second time I’ve been able to vote in an election at 22. I was able to when I was 18. So I think this is the best thing I can do with the platform I have. And it’s the same thing Taylor did.”

Swift’s endorsement came minutes after the conclusion of the presidential debate.
“And I think we need to continue to educate ourselves on the candidates we have and the policies they’re supporting.”
Swift’s endorsement of Harris comes days after her friend Brittany Mahomes, wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, appeared to endorse Donald Trump.
Swift has been dating Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce for the past year, and he has yet to like the post. However, a source who spoke to DailyMail.com said he plans to back her up “very soon.”
Patrick Mahomes and Kelce are close friends and the pair sat next to each other at the US Open men’s singles final on Sunday.
They later went out for a double date in New York, not long after Brittany made headlines by liking several social media posts in support of Trump.
Swift explained that the vice president “fights for rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to defend them.”
Swift added: ‘I think she’s a talented and steady leader and I think we can accomplish so much more in this country if we’re guided by calm and not chaos.
“I was very encouraged and impressed by her choice of running mate (Walz), who has championed LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades. I have done my research and made my decision.”
Swift and Brittany Mahomes developed a close friendship last season, when their teammates led the Kansas City Chiefs to a Super Bowl win once again. They were frequently seen sitting together at games and hanging out off the field as well.
But the singer’s post is the latest chapter in which she and Brittany find themselves on opposite sides of the US political spectrum. A source exclusively told DailyMail.com that they “respect that they have different views” and made a “pact” to avoid discussing politics last month.
