A beaming Caitlin Clark finally clinched the WNBA Rookie of the Year trophy after fending off competition from Angel Reese to win the coveted award.

The Indiana Fever sensation received a staggering 66 of 67 votes to claim the award after a historic rookie season, and an anonymous reporter sparked controversy by selecting Chicago Sky forward Reese.

That’s despite the former LSU star failing to reach the postseason with Chicago, while Clark guided Indiana to its first playoff berth since 2016.

However, the WNBA’s worst-kept secret was finally confirmed Thursday after Clark, currently at the center of another fierce racial dispute, was named Rookie of the Year following her record-breaking debut campaign.
