Caitlin Clark may have put the WNBA Rookie of the Year race on ice after her performance Friday night.

Clark scored 31 points and dished out a dozen assists as the Indiana Fever defeated the Chicago Sky 100-81.

Angel Reese paled in comparison, finishing the loss with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Clark’s surprising totals came even though he was out of the game for the final four minutes.

She did not play again after taking the free throw associated with the flagrant foul committed against her by Diamond Deshields, a hip thrust that sent Clark spiraling to the floor.

As Clark left the game, he asked the crowd to make noise and both announcers mentioned that they had seen many of his jerseys in Chicago.

“Is this enemy territory? I’ve seen a lot of Caitlin Clark t-shirts in downtown Chicago today,” said one Ion Network commenter.

Reese completed her 23rd double-double of the season, surpassing Tina Charles for the most by a rookie in WNBA history.

The Fever improve to 16-16 with the win, the first time the team has been at .500 or better since 2022.

Indiana now also has a five-game lead over the Atlanta Dream for the final WNBA playoff spot with eight games remaining in their regular season.

A common criticism of Clark lately has been her field goal percentage, with many believing she only scores high point totals because she is a volume shooter.

Clark’s 31 on Friday night came on 8-of-14 shooting from the field and 5-of-9 from 3-point range.
