Caitlin Clark took a hard hit to the face after a collision with Jackie Young during Wednesday’s game between the Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces.
The first general election candidate could be seen holding her mouth as she writhed in pain after being elbowed.
Clark was briefly forced off the court before Young was penalized for the collision.
The hit came after Clark dribbled the ball 94 feet and attempted a reverse layup late in the third quarter.
As the ball was going up, Young stepped up to grab the rebound and accidentally hit Clark, who had not yet put his feet on the floor, in the face. As he was going down, Clark also appeared to hit Young in the face, as his right hand came down after the layup attempt.
The Aces guard fell on Clark as the two touched the wood and the ball bounced off the rim.
Both players remained with their backs on the ground, grimacing in pain before finally getting up.
