Caitlin Clark couldn’t finish her first WNBA season without setting another record, even as her Indiana Fever saw their season ended in the first round of the postseason by the Connecticut Sun.
In the season-ending loss to the Sun, Clark scored 25 points, added nine assists and six rebounds. She is the first rookie to go 25-5-5 in the postseason.
The WNBA Rookie of the Year, while at the forefront of the Fever’s resurgence, also led them to accomplish several more amazing feats during the regular season.
Clark was the first rookie to record a triple-double, set the overall WNBA record for most assists in a season and set the league record for most three-pointers made by a rookie.
Clark was also the fastest WNBA player to reach the 500-point and 200-assist plateaus.
Clark’s season ended Wednesday night, but not without setting another league record.
Clark also led WNBA rookies in points per game, field goals made, assists per game and steals per game.
The former Iowa star also set the scoring record for a rookie with 769 points this season.
Clark also finished fourth in WNBA MVP voting and was named to the WNBA All-Star Team.
The rookie proved to be one of the best passers the league has ever seen, setting the single-game record for assists with 19 and the single-season record for assists with 137.
Clark has also been known for her three-point prowess for some time now, and she showed it off with the second-most three-pointers made in a single season with 122.
How Clark will continue his spectacular rookie campaign should be a topic of television conversation.
