Caitlin Clark returned to training with Indiana Fever after being sidelined from the Olympics

Caitlin Clark is back in training with the Indiana Fever following her controversial snub from the U.S. women’s basketball team at the Olympics.

Earlier this summer, fans protested after the rookie sensation was left off the Olympic roster that was sent to Paris. Her snub came as Clark continued to draw more eyes to the WNBA, breaking attendance and viewership records.

However, Clark remains focused on finishing her first WNBA season strong and is back in the lab even though her next game isn’t until Aug. 16, after the Olympics.

On Tuesday, Clark was photographed at the Fever’s training facility preparing for the remainder of the season.

The former Iowa star rocked his Nike Kobe 5 Protro PE during the shoot. He also looked jovial while talking about his new kicks.

“It’s cool, it feels like it’s Fever but it’s also Iowa,” Clark said of the shoe. “You get the best of both worlds. I have another one that you’ll probably see me wear later that’s even more Fever, so just wait for that.”

“But yeah, you have the yellow one and they look a bit like the Bruce Lee ones I wear, but they’re different,” he added. “I like the gold logo. It’s black and yellow, you can’t go wrong.”

In a neck-and-neck race with Angel Reese for the Rookie of the Year award, Clark currently leads the Fever in points, assists and steals. The rookie is averaging 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 8.2 digs and 1.5 steals per game.
