Cairns: Young girl, 4, in a pink dress found wandering at a bus stop near a shopping centre as cops seek help identifying her

Queensland Police released this image of the young woman and have asked the public for help in locating her parents.

A toddler who was found wandering alone near a bus stop at night in northern Queensland has prompted an urgent call for help from police.

The young woman was seen by a group of people near a Cairns shopping center in the Smithfield suburb, on the Captain Cook Highway, about 8.30pm on Friday night.

The girl is about four years old, police said.

Queensland Police released this image of the young woman and have asked the public for help in locating her parents.

She is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance, with brown eyes and brown hair and was wearing a pink dress with flowers.

Police are asking the public for help in locating the guardian responsible for the girl, as she was found alone and unsupervised at night near a busy road.

Anyone with information or knows this girl is asked to contact police immediately via Policelink, Cairns Police or Crimestoppers.
