The moment the woman fell was videotaped and posted on Facebook, but removed out of respect for her distraught family.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said several paramedics attended the ‘workplace incident’.
The woman was released and treated for serious head and spinal cord injuries. She was transported in critical condition with an intensive care paramedic and flight doctor to Cairns hospital, ‘she said.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Cairns Hospital for comment.
Father Kurt Wanless took his two children and a neighbor’s child to the Cairns Show Fest on Saturday and witnessed the woman’s fall.
‘I got a dagger dog and I saw her in the middle of the flight in the last few meters before she hit the ground. My daughter has seen her country, ”Wanless told Daily Mail Australia.
“There was a young guy and a girl of about 18 who looked pretty shocked. They were crying. I think they may have been her family. ‘
Wanless said parents took their children to see the woman trapped in the ride after she fell.
‘People took their kids to see, which is pretty disgusting. I don’t want my kids to have that in mind, ”he said.
“I grabbed my kids when they put their sheets across, thinking she might have died. When we left, more police came in.
‘I thought they were going to stop the whole show. When something like this happens, you have to stop. Remove the people so that the emergency services can cordon off the area. But they continued. ‘
Wanless said the woman fell off the front seat of The Hangover ride, which his kids had ridden just before.
‘My kids did that ride (The Hangover) on the ride before. They were in the middle and I wanted them to be in the front where the woman came out, ”he said.
