Cairns Show Horror: Shocking Moment Carnival Goers Get Caught On Pendulum Ride

Shocking footage has captured the moment a popular amusement park malfunctions, leaving a group stranded in midair.
Riders were seen stranded in the air after the 55m pendulum ride at the Cairns Show failed.
In the video, uploaded to TikTok, user Mike Munro said the ride was “pretty high up” when it came to a stop.

“People are trapped there,” he can be heard saying in the footage.
‘There’s a guy up there in that box, he’s kind of banging on some electrical equipment in there.
‘(He) is literally beating him up. I don’t know if that will help it go away.
Mr Munro then said: ‘The good old Cairns Show, yes. Broken.’
Comments on the video, which was also posted on local Facebook pages, claimed that the ride had broken down multiple times.
Cairns Show Chairman Ian Allen told the courier said the new 55m high ‘The Warrior’ ride had had problems.
It said a malfunction alarm had gone off mid-ride, forcing its operators to halt the ride mid-ride for 35 minutes.

“The generator that was running was overheating, so they got everyone out,” he said.
“It’s only the second time he’s performed in a show,” he said.
The Cairns Show, which takes place at the Cairns Showground, ran from July 19-21.
According to its website, the show features a series of amusement park-style rides and events.
