Pushing back her brunette hair, she completed the look with strappy heels and a pair of statement diamond earrings.

Cailee met up with her co-stars and plenty of famous faces on the red carpet ahead of the screening.

Director Fede Álvarez’s thriller takes place between the original 1979 classic Alien and the 1986 sequel Aliens, telling an entirely new story within the franchise.

While full reviews are not yet available, social media reactions from various critics across the country have begun to trickle in to X (formerly Twitter).

Many of them praise writer-director Fede Álvarez (the Evil Dead remake) for the film, insisting that it isn’t filled with “fan service” like many new films in the franchise are.

One critic, Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter, even claimed that the film takes the 40-year-old franchise “in a crazy new direction.”

‘Alien: Romulus – It has all the hallmarks you’d expect from an Alien movie, but it never feels like it’s appealing to nostalgia or fans… and it even goes in a crazy new direction. Fede Alvarez and the cast just gave birth to the best movie of the summer,’ Kit tweeted after attending the film’s premiere.

Variety’s Jazz Tangcay added: “#AlienRomulus The bitch is back. I was hesitant going into this, but this is easily one of the best films in the franchise.”

“Fede Álvarez does not disappoint. The sound design and world building are impressive. The practical effects are so good that the film gave me nightmares,” he added.

MovieWeb’s Richard Fink tweeted: “I loved #AlienRomulus! It’s a gory monster movie with some really clever set pieces. The third act left me breathless with horror.”
