Joao Félix scored a brilliant bicycle kick to give impoverished Barcelona a 1-0 La Liga victory over relegation-threatened Cádiz on Saturday as coach Xavi Hernández rested key players ahead of their La Liga quarter-final match. Champions League against Paris St Germain.

Barça stands at 70 points, eight behind leaders Real Madrid, whom they will face in ‘El Clásico’ at the Santiago Bernabéu next weekend.

Félix scored the winning goal in the 37th minute with a stunning shot, taking advantage of a rebound from a corner to volley acrobatically between two defenders.

Cádiz is 18th in the standings with 25 points, third place and three points behind Celta, which is in 17th place and is just outside the relegation zone.

After the winning goal, the Portuguese said: “We are all working to be starters,” said Félix. “I’m like any other player who wants to play because I know I have what it takes to help the team.”
