Liza Minnelli has been photographed on a rare public outing after enjoying a night out with friends in Los Angeles, DailyMail.com can reveal.
The cabaret performer and daughter of the late Judy Garland was seen for the first time in almost a year returning to her Beverly Hills home last Thursday night, exclusive photos show.
Minnelli, who turned 78 last month, was taken in a Cadillac sedan before two friends helped her out of the car and into her wheelchair.
The Hollywood star looked glamorous for a night on the town, wearing full makeup and wearing her signature black.

Minnelli, who has needed a wheelchair in recent years, was photographed returning home after a night out with friends in Los Angeles.
Before the outing, Liza was last photographed leaving a restaurant in West Hollywood last June, when it was reported that she needed 24-hour care amid ongoing health fears.
However, he seemed in good spirits for this night out, which comes a couple of weeks after his 78th birthday on March 12.
Minnelli showed off her trademark wit when she opened up about her secret to survival in an interview on her special day.
The star has persevered through the ups and downs of fame, including setbacks like health problems and tumultuous relationships.
‘I am very grateful for all the good wishes and all the love she receives. Not just on my birthday, but always,” the superstar, who appears in the films Cabaret and Arthur, shared with People.
‘I wish I knew how to behave according to my age. But kids, guess what? I’ve never been so old! Keep going darling, that’s the secret!’ she joked.
She also revealed plans for the ‘fabulous’ celebration of her big day, which includes a gift from Italian jewelery line Elsa Peretti.
‘Dear friends are organizing a party in my honor. [pianist] Michael Feinstein and Terrence Flannery,” he explained.

According to his publicist Victoria Varela: “It is very exciting news, but we cannot reveal it yet.”
Diagnosed with viral encephalitis in 2000, which can cause weakness or loss of movement in parts of the body, Liza has continued to battle health issues in recent years.
She is often seen in public in a wheelchair and even appeared sitting in one on the 2022 Oscars stage alongside Lady Gaga.
