Meet your newest Byron Bae! Ruby Tuesday Matthews’ best friend Saskia Wotton joins the rumored lineup – despite her BFF turning down an offer and burning the show ’embarrassingly’

Ruby Tuesday Matthews may have turned down an offer to star in Netflix’s new show Byron Baes, but it seems her best friend has done the opposite.

Daily Mail Australia understands that her BFF Saskia Wotton is the newest star in the show’s line-up, who will follow the lives of ‘artists, musicians, entrepreneurs and models’ who live in the popular coastal town.

While residents were concerned that a show that follows ‘influencers’ could damage Byron’s reputation, Saskia has amassed just under 7,000 followers on her Instagram page.

The blonde beauty is also an incredibly successful sales executive at the natural clothing brand Silk Laundry, a position she has held for over two years.

Her Instagram page clearly shows that she is very good friends with Ruby and takes numerous photos with the popular influencer – who herself has a whopping 228,000 followers.

It appears that Saskia also has a boyfriend, Dave Frim, but it is not known if he will appear on the show.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Netflix and Saskia for further comment.

Other rumors include castmates ‘born and bred’ locals Kathy and Ralph Brauer – who own furniture and women’s fashion retailer Bisque – and Love Island’s Elias Chigros.

While Ruby, 26, could have been a fascinating addition to the cast, the mother of two recently made it clear that she won’t be making an appearance.

Ruby posted a promotional image for Byron Baes on Instagram Stories, writing, “For anyone asking if I will be on this show, I declined the offer.”

“Goodbye Byron, you’re officially cooked. How embarrassing, ”she added.

Ruby also used the hashtag #ShireRepeat ?, referring to Channel 10’s short-lived 2012 reality show about the glamorous residents of Sydney’s Sutherland Shire.

It comes after Netflix was recently forced to apologize to the show’s stars for painting them as ‘influencers’ and ‘hot Instagrammers’.

Netflix’s Director of Originals in Australia Que Minh Luu confirmed that the cast ‘hated’ a recent PR post describing the upcoming series.

“They are artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, business owners, models, on a spiritual journey and more,” Que wrote to her 7,000 followers.

Most of them hated the press release too! I made many apologies that week. The PR team fired (lol jokes about layoffs, we all learn together). ‘
