In Diablo 4 new heroes have to work. Our old ones are too old.
Fortunately, we don’t have to wait 70 years for Lilith to return, as Diablo 4 is scheduled for release on June 6, 2023. Our old heroes from the first Diablo or Diablo 2 fared quite differently, like now official timeline for the action role-playing game series revealed by Blizzard.
Too old for the hell fight
From this it follows that: By the time of Diablo 4, our characters are long dead or, with a little fingers crossed, retired. This is how the events of Diablo 1 take place in 1263, when the town of Tristram was taken over by a horde of demons and Diablo was brought to his knees by our heroes.
A year later, Diablo returns, while his brother Baal is also involved: the events of Diablo 2 take place in 1264 and 1265. It continues in 1270 in Diablo: Immortal with the hunt for shards of the World Stone, before 1285 the pig really gets going again when Diablo becomes the so-called Prime Evil in Part 3.
That doesn’t last long, however, since we have a say in Diablo 3 and the events of Reaper of Souls follow in 1286. Then the world of Diablo seems to be quiet for a while, until 1336, when Lilith, Mephisto’s daughter, appears.
And this is where our new heroes from Diablo 4, who we send into the race as barbarians, huntresses, sorceresses, necromancers or druids, are allowed to play. Our old guard from the first two Diablos has long since had its day, the events of the two games are 70 years ago.
