After Eintracht Frankfurt confirmed that Daichi Kamada would not extend his expiring contract, hopes of a free transfer were fueled at Borussia Dortmund. But the Japanese probably gave BVB a refusal.
According to “Bild”, Kamada Borussia Dortmund has canceled. Accordingly, there has been radio silence between the two parties for weeks.
The BVB managers had lured the attacking midfielder with a five-year contract and an annual salary of up to six million euros. But that was apparently not enough for Kamada.
The 26-year-old will probably turn his back on the Bundesliga instead. The most likely new employer is the Spanish top club Atlético Madrid.
A few weeks ago, “Sky” reported that there was no longer a hot lead at Kamada to BVB. “Dortmund and Kamada is cold. There has been no contact for two or three weeks. He is more drawn to other countries,” said reporter Florian Plettenberg.
Eintracht Frankfurt would have liked to extend with Kamada
Kamada came to Eintracht Frankfurt from Japanese J-League club Sagan Tosu in 2017 for a transfer fee of 1.6 million euros. Its market value is said to be around 40 million euros. The 26-year-old has played 170 competitive games (37 goals) for the Europa League winners.
On Wednesday, SGE confirmed that Kamada’s expiring contract would not be extended. “We would have liked to have seen Daichi at Eintracht in the future, but the interests of the player were not associated with that,” said sporting director Markus Krösche in a statement: “We thank him for his commitment to Eintracht and wish him all the best for his future Good.”
Guerreiro waves extension at BVB
After the Kamada basket, the probability increases at BVB that Raphaël Guerreiro’s contract, which only runs until the summer of 2023, will be extended. This is reported by the “image”.
Accordingly, the Portuguese has an offer ready to be signed.
