Motorists who want to save a few pounds in the wake of rising petrol prices can be seduced by a new promotion that could save them almost £ 54 on an APK of £ 54.85.
Halfords, for only one month, has launched a new offer where you can get the next APK of your car for free if you buy an item from the store, both in the store and online.
This means that the next essential assessment of your engine could cost the same as an air freshener of £ 1.
New idea: buy each item – including an air freshener £ 1 – in a Halfords store online before October 14 and you can get a free APK at one of its Autocentres
The promotion was announced this week and is available to motorists from now until 14 October.
The purchase of a product is rewarded with a free APK – which normally costs £ 54.85 – at more than 300 Halfords Autocentres across the country.
In case of a purchase in the store an e-mail code is sent to the customer, while for online purchases a paper redemption code is displayed when ordering.
The free test can be redeemed at any time during the next 13 months.
Buy these £ 1 air freshener sticks from Halfords and your next MOT is free
The offer applies to anything that is sold in a Halfords store – including sieve and cleaning products – that are not part of any other existing offer or promotion.
The cheapest item This is what Money could find was a £ 1 package with odor eliminating & # 39; scented sticks that can be attached to the vents in your car.
Buy these, ask for free APK and you save 98 percent.
Halfords says it launched the initiative after the survey revealed that 16 percent of motorists think an APK is one of their biggest car costs of the year.
The poll of 2000 motorists also shed some light on the attitude of drivers to the test, which is an annual necessity for every car that is three years or older.
More than half of the drivers said they were not aware of the APK date of their car and 16 percent even had an error checked until their next scheduled service.
The investigation also showed that two-thirds of the owners did not carry out the inspection of their car in preparation for an APK until one month before it was needed, while a quarter of them had to leave less than fourteen days.
The offer does not have to be used immediately – motorists can redeem it any time in the next 13 months
A Halfords spokesperson said the timing of the offer would benefit a large proportion of motorists, as September is one of the busiest months for APKs.
This is because it is one of the two months, together with March, when the sale of new cars is generally the highest because of the plate change.
The shopkeeper said: "We want to encourage everyone who shops at Halfords to make use of this offer, because it keeps our roads safer, helps drivers with their costs and they can keep their cars on the road.
We hope that this will give them the encouragement to get their MOT booked. & # 39;
You can find more information about the offer on the Halfords website.
