A bandit wearing a burqa to hide his face has made a brutal robbery at the Piaget store in the Hudson Yards shopping center in Manhattan and got away with more than $ 800,000 in luxury jewelry.
The male suspect, dressed in a wrap traditionally worn by women in certain Muslim cultures, walked into the luxury boutique around 3.55 pm on Sunday and asked for a necklace with a price tag of more than $ 21,000.
A clerk who helped the fake customer noticed that the person in the burqa was holding a watch from the screen in their hands.

When the Piaget employee confronted the disguised shopper, the crook pulled out a spray bottle and flushed the clerk with an unknown liquid before making a hasty retreat while the New York Post reported first.
The perpetrator fled with the chain, a $ 715,000 watch and a $ 64,000 watch, causing the store to lose $ 800,600 in total.
From Monday morning no suspects were identified because no arrests were made.
