A man was shot dead by police during a search warrant at a house north of Brisbane.
Officers were searching a house in Burpengary East on Saturday afternoon when they were confronted by the man, prompting them to open fire.
The 29-year-old man died at the scene, despite attempts by police and paramedics to revive him.
Police said no one else is being sought in connection with the shooting.
A roadblock was set up on Margaret Street at 6:45 pm, and police began questioning people in houses surrounding the property.

Detectives on the scene told reporters that police knew the man but declined to provide any further details, including the number of bullets that were fired.
“In attending this address, police encountered a 29-year-old male,” Detective Superintendent Ben Fadian said. said ABC.
‘This man has confronted the police, as a result, the police fired their firearms.
‘I can also report that there is no threat to public safety as a result of this incident and that no other person is wanted in this matter.
No police officers were injured in the shooting and support has been offered to all officers.
There were people in the house at the time of the shooting who have since provided statements to police.
Paramedics arrived at the scene within five minutes but were unable to do anything to save the man.
Superintendent Fadian offered his “condolences to the family of the deceased.”
Neighbors described the area as generally quiet despite some occasional shouting.
A crime scene has since been established at the home and police are investigating the circumstances behind the man’s death.
The Ethics Standards Command is leading the investigation on behalf of the State Coroner and will be subject to oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.

Detectives on the scene said the man was known to police, and the shooting is now under investigation by an ethics committee.
