In a recently released video, a Chicago homeowner was seen chasing and fighting a would-be burglar in his neighborhood wielding a kitchen utensil as a weapon.

Williams was minutes away from getting home from work when he received an alert from his alarm system that someone had broken in.

‘I went into the house, looked to see if there was a gun available… there was a frying pan lying there, so I grabbed the frying pan and at the same time the thief came down the stairs.

“At this point, it was fight or flight, and I would rather fight,” Williams said. ABC.

“At this point, it was fight or flight, and I would rather fight,” Williams said in an interview.

The video shows the brave homeowner chasing the suspect while waving the frying pan in the air on his lawn.

“Get out of here, I’m going to kill you,” Williams can be heard shouting as the intruder runs for his life.

In a scene straight out of a TV cartoon, Williams finally ends up landing a satisfying punch on the suspect and leaving him completely shaken by the time the police arrive on the scene.

The intruder is seen trying to run across the street after the painful blow before he finally gives up and is handcuffed.

‘This could have had a different ending and I’m glad it was good. “My wife is not happy with the decision I made…she probably wouldn’t do it again, but it is what it is,” she further told the channel.

Chicago police confirmed that the intruder was detained, however, it is unclear if he has been charged.
