Burger King Releases ‘Disgusting’ New Cheeseburger…and People Don’t Know If It’s Real
Burger King has sent foodies crazy after unveiling its latest offering: a meatless cheeseburger with 20 slices of cheese.
The American fast food chain has launched the unusual bap, which it calls ‘the real cheeseburger’, in Thailand.
The dish, which costs 109 Thai baht (or £2.50), consists of a bun stuffed with up to 20 slices of American cheese.
The restaurant announced the launch of the burger on its official Burger King Thailand Facebook earlier this week, with a post saying, “This is not a joke.” This is real.
Many fans of the restaurant have been divided over the burger on social media, but some have been quick to get their hands on the unusual offering to try it out.

The American fast food chain has launched the unusual bap, which it calls ‘the real cheeseburger’, in Thailand.
Announcing the news on Sunday, the American fast food chain posted: ‘Not for fun, this is serious!
‘Real Cheeseburger from Burger King! Carrying up to 20 slices of American cheese!!!’
He went on to explain that the price had been reduced from 380 baht (about £5) to 109 baht (about £2.50).
The post went on to joke about the other cheeseburgers that would be “screaming” for the latest release, before encouraging Thai customers to head to their local branch to pick up the deal.
According CNNA manager on duty was overheard saying that his Bangkok store had to stop accepting orders for delivery so he could save enough real cheeseburgers to serve diners in the store.
However, many foodies were conflicted by the offer, with one commenting: ‘Burger King Thailand new cheeseburger. Dude, that’s a cheese sandwich.

Many foodies took to social media to express their surprise at the burger, with some split on whether they’d like to try it.
Another wrote: ‘I would have the thai burger king cheeseburger.
A third added: ‘Could you even eat this? It’s disgusting! Must they love American cheese?
A fourth wrote: ‘OMG no. Just no.’
Another commented: ‘I heard about this! Although I don’t think I can with one, haha.
One added: ‘I can’t imagine…’
Whether Burger King will roll out the unusual burger to diners around the world remains to be seen.
It’s not the only unusual launch for a fast-food restaurant in recent months.
Last month, teens turned a McDonald’s drink into the latest bizarre TikTok trend as they filmed themselves pretending to die or suffer other gruesome fates after downing the bright purple milkshake.
The limited-edition Grimace shake, reintroduced by the restaurant chain as a tribute to a forgotten and downright haunting mascot, inspired a wave of memes and videos that even forced the fast-food giant to join in.
Grimace first appeared in the 1970s as part of a campaign designed for young children. He was originally introduced as a villain who stole people’s milkshakes, but quickly morphed into a light-hearted character.
And McDonald’s lovers have certainly embraced the mascot again, but perhaps not in the way the fast-food brand might anticipate.
The horror-infused trend hashtag #grimaceshake has over 778.6 million views on TikTok and has thousands of videos of Gen Zers drinking the sugary drink and then cutting them off by playing dead or injured with the purple drink pouring out of their nose, mouth or head.
