Bunnings customers were left outraged after a pet owner left dog poop strewn across an aisle.

Shoppers say they are “fed up with dogs and their owners” roaming the aisles of Bunnings after customers were forced to dodge dog poop left on the floor by “lazy” dog owners.

In a photo posted on Reddit by an angry customer, several pieces of dog poop could be seen strewn across an aisle at Bunnings.

“I’ll probably get told off for this but I’m fed up with dogs and their owners at Bunnings,” the customer wrote.

‘On my last visit there was literally dog poop in the hallway.’

The customer said he had to rush outside to find a staff member, only to return to the “crime scene” to find a woman had already driven her trolley over the dog poop.

The shocking image sparked outrage among Bunnings shoppers, who were quick to share their complaints about the store’s dog-friendly policy.

“I think people who leave their dog’s poop in the hallways should be banned from Bunnings permanently,” one Redditor said.

Another added: “Dogs should be allowed but there should be a clean-up policy. If you let your dog do their business and don’t even bother to pick it up you should get a lifetime ban from Bunnings. It’s absolutely rubbish behaviour.”

Bunnings’ store policy states that stores accept both service animals and “well-behaved” pets that remain on a leash.

The store’s policy also says that owners must maintain full control of their pet at all times and clean up after them, otherwise they will be asked to remove the pets from the store.

The shopper went on to explain that the issue was not the first dog-related problem they had witnessed inside the popular hardware store, revealing that on the same day they saw a young Labrador wrap its leash around another customer’s legs.

The customer said a ‘dog fight’ broke out at the service counter a week earlier.

The post has raised questions about why non-service dogs are allowed into the store in the first place.

“You don’t bring your dog with you when you get a haircut, look for clothes, try on shoes, go to the library or any number of public places of business. Bunnings should be no different,” said one user.

“I actually don’t understand why the general public needs to take their dogs to Bunnings. Why? Because they can?” asked another.

Some said Bunnings’ fog-friendly policy was “clearly being abused”.

Others suggested the store should build a dog run outside for shoppers who insist on bringing their pet with them.

This comes after a Sydney couple faced criticism for allowing their dog to sit on Guzman and Gomez’s counter while they enjoyed their meal at the Newtown restaurant.
