England have suffered a double injury blow with Harry Kane in doubt for Saturday’s clash against Brazil, while Bukayo Saka pulls out of the squad altogether.
England captain Kane suffered the problem while playing for Bayern Munich last Saturday after colliding with a goal post in his side’s win over Darmstadt.
Kane has missed parts of training this week and is receiving treatment at St George’s Park following a scan on Monday.
And there are concerns that the country’s leading goalscorer will not be fit enough to start against the South Americans at the weekend, although there is still hope that he can play a bigger role in Tuesday’s clash with Belgium.
England will not take any chances on Kane’s fitness, especially as both games are friendlies.

Meanwhile, it is understood that Saka also leaves the camp with an unspecified injury.
If Kane is not fit enough to start against Brazil, head coach Gareth Southgate is expected to turn to either Ivan Toney or Ollie Watkins to play as England’s centre-forward.
There is a growing feeling that Southgate, who can only pick 23 players for Euro 2024, will choose between Toney and Watkins this summer.
Last week Southgate said: ‘He (Toney) has super quality.
‘He plays with enormous confidence, great presence, technically a good finisher, the goal he scored at Spurs you can often look ahead in one-on-one situations with the goalkeeper and you’re not sure, I wasn’t sitting in the stadium thinking, That this does not work, there is no doubt. He is a very good finisher.
‘He’s a slightly different profile to Ollie and Harry, but he has that ability to link play as well as finish.
Saka has scored 13 goals in 27 Premier League games so far this season for Arsenal
England face Brazil on Saturday before taking on Belgium at Wembley next Tuesday
Southgate is expected to turn to Ivan Toney (left) or Ollie Watkins (right) to play up front
‘We still have to work out if we take two out-and-out 9s or three and we have other players in the attacking areas who can play as a 9, (Jarrod) Bowen has done that, (Anthony) (Gordon) has done it, Bellingham has almost done it.
So we have to figure out what the right balance is further down the line, but we thought we should include Ollie and Ivan in particular and keep them feeling part of that group. They both deserve it in different ways.’
