A woman’s body has been discovered in a container on an isolated stretch of road as homicide detectives head to the scene.
The grisly discovery was made on Mt Pollock Rd in Buckley, near Geelong, south-west of Melbourne, around midday on Saturday.
Police are treating the discovery as suspicious and have established the crime scene in the area south of the Princes Highway.
The area is closed to traffic, with residential blocks and farmland scattered along the road where the woman’s body was found.
Homicide Squad detectives are en route to the scene from Melbourne, the Herald of the sun.

A local, Eric Lewis, who owns land near the site, told the publication he was “stunned” by the horrific discovery.
He said he arrived at the scene after hearing something on the “Bush telegraph,” but the police didn’t tell him anything.
“What’s happening here in Buckley, I just can’t believe it,” he said.
Another resident said the discovery was “disturbing” and would come as a shock to the close-knit local community.
