David Campbell slaps Bryce Ruthven in tense interview after the Married At First Sight star admits he used the show for publicity – as Melissa Rawson fiercely claims the pair do NOT want fame or influencer careers
Married At First Sight villain Bryce Ruthven was called awkwardly by Today Extra presenter David Campbell during a tense interview Thursday.
The drama began when the radio host, who was interviewed along with his TV wife Melissa Rawson, accidentally admitted that he enjoyed the publicity that came from the show.
“It’s disappointing that gossip pages just want to gossip about our relationship, but hey, it’s kind of fun at the same time because all they do is build our profiles for when we finish the show, so thank you guys,” Bryce said.

Melissa immediately shook her head in disbelief at Bryce’s bold statement before Today Extra’s David and Belinda Russell jumped in.
“Is that why you’re in this anyway, it’s all for publicity?” said a shocked Belinda.
‘That is a problem!’ David barked. “That little statement at the end.”
A nervous Bryce replied, “Well that’s it, if they keep doing it, they’ll just help us [with] whatever we want to do in the future. ‘
David was clearly frustrated and suspicious and brushed off Bryce before questioning Melissa about her intentions to go to the show.

The workplace trainer insisted she wasn’t looking for a career as an influencer, before Bryce said he was just joking with his publicity comments.
“I still work full time and at the end of this I never expected to start looking at that kind of life because I showed up and I got what I wanted with Bryce,” she said.
“It’s like they think we’re going to be these influencers,” she continued.

“They think we’ll be the next Cam and Jules or Martha and Michael, and that’s just not the case, it’s not who we are.”
Melissa currently has nearly 70,000 Instagram followers, while radio host Bryce has about 52,000.
During their time on the show, it was alleged that Bryce was only using the platform to further his media career.
However, he has vehemently denied this, insisting that he join the social experiment to find love.
