Amid brutal temperatures at the US Open in New York, some of the biggest names in tennis struggled to advance in their matches on Wednesday afternoon.
Bright sunshine and 92-degree heat brought on several heat breaks, but Tomás Martín Etcheverry may have felt it more brutally than most.
Halfway through his second-round match against fellow Argentine Francisco Cerundolo, the world number 33 was caught on camera VOMITING on court.
The match was already well into its fifth set and approaching the fourth hour when Etcheverry stepped to the line and prepared to return serve.
However, he quickly realized that he wasn’t feeling well and went to raise his hand to apologize to his opponent and back away.

Somehow, Etcheverry managed to regain his composure to win the match in five sets.
However, he instantly couldn’t stop himself from vomiting on the court and desperately tried to raise his hand to stop the flow.
Incredibly, Etcheverry managed to recover and won the fifth set 6-3, booking himself a draw against Alexander Zverev in the third round.
On the courts at Flushing Meadows, players did everything they could to cope with the brutal temperatures, using ice packs, ice towels and even cold air tubes.
Heat breaks of 10 minutes each were given to allow players, and ball boys, to cool down.
