Shocking footage of a 4WD knocking down a woman running onto the road has sparked wild theories and speculation about what REALLY caused the collision
- Woman hit by car in south Brisbane
- Viewers said it was probably a staged accident
Shocking footage captured the moment when a woman appeared to deliberately run into the path of an oncoming car.
A motorist drove down a road in Browns Plains in Logan, south Brisbane just after 2am on Tuesday.
As the car swerved through a roundabout, dash cam footage shows a woman waiting nearby on the wildlife strip before jumping in front of the vehicle.
Footage of the incident was uploaded to Twitter, where social media users speculated whether or not the woman had attempted insurance fraud.

Dashcam footage shows the woman jumping out in front of the car before being knocked to the ground.
She then cries out in pain as a man runs up to her and puts his hands on his head.
The driver of the ute then quickly swings around the pair and drives down the road.
Many social media users claimed that the woman appeared to be waiting for the car to pass and jumped on the hood to claim money from the driver.
“They seemed decidedly trapped. I didn’t think I’d see that happen in Australia,” commented one person.
“Damn, the fraudster looked rightfully hurt. I should have picked something smaller like a Honda Jazz to attract this scam instead of a ute with a bull bar,” said another.

“You wonder if these people will ever get away with this if the car doesn’t have a dash cam. Fortunately, they are so widespread now that these people are being discovered,” one wrote.
Another social media user praised the ute driver for not stopping.
“Driving away was probably a good idea given the number of stolen cars in south east Queensland,” one wrote.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Queensland Police for comment.
