The film follows sexy nightclub owner Barb Wire (Pamela Anderson Lee), who works as a mercenary in Steel Harbor, one of the last free zones in the now-fascist United States.
“When scientist Cora Devonshire (Victoria Rowell) enters Barb’s facility, she finds herself involved in a top-secret government plot involving biological weapons,” according to an official description.
Barb Wire was one of Pamela’s first leading roles and, despite being criticized, the film has achieved cult status.
The film was based on the Dark Horse comic of the same name and also starred Temuera Morrison, Victoria Rowell, Xander Berkeley and Udo Kier.
Despite having been released in 1996, the film was set 11 years in the future, where Pamela’s character owns a bar called Hammerhead, which is located in the “last free city” of the United States, which has been plagued by war.
An ex-lover walks into the bar looking for a fugitive, and before long, Barb finds herself involved in the entire ordeal.
