Brooks Koepka joked with his Spanish opponents by turning up for their match in an England shirt

Brooks Koepka showed his Euro 2024 colours by appearing in an England shirt for their match with Spaniards Jon Rahm and Sergio Garcia on Sunday.

The LIV Golf Andalucía tee-off at 13:05 had a very Spanish atmosphere, with two Spanish players and a very partisan crowd cheering them on just a few hours before the match between the national football team and England in Berlin.

Apparently eager to make a splash, Koepka hilariously arrived at the first hole wearing a retro England jersey, much to the surprise of his two rival golfers and the entire crowd.

The American heads straight for Garcia, who is wearing a Spain football shirt, and the two share a laugh before Rahm gets involved as well.

In the background, the crowd can be heard loudly booing Koepka, before chanting “Viva España” before he began play.

Rahm and Garcia in particular will be eager to quickly complete their 18 holes on Sunday before sitting down to watch the big match, which sees England and Spain battle it out for the trophy in Berlin.

Spain have been the best team in the tournament so far, but Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions will be looking to end their drought and lift their first major trophy since 1966.

At LIV Andalucia, Garcia’s Firebolts placed second in the standings, while Rahm’s Legion XIII placed tenth and Koepka’s Smash GC placed eleventh.
