A gunman wearing New York City Housing Authority coveralls shot a Brooklyn man in the chest Saturday during a deadly visit to the victim’s home early in the morning, police said.
The 24-year-old victim was inside an apartment at NYCHA’s Unity Plaza Houses on Dumont Ave. near Hinsdale St. in eastern New York around 3 a.m. when there was a knock on the door, police told.
When the victim went to answer the door, a man dressed in the uniform of a housing authority worker was in the hallway.
The suspect pulled out a gun, shot the victim in the chest, and ran off.
EMS took the victim to Brookdale University Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition Saturday.
No arrests have been made.
On Saturday, detectives were trying to determine why the victim was attacked, police said.
