Brooke Shields says The Blue Lagoon director Randall Kleiser has reached out to her for a new interview… after the release of her explosive documentary

Brooke Shields revealed that The Blue Lagoon director Randal Kleiser reached out to her after the premiere of her documentary Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields in a teaser for Tuesday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show.

The 57-year-old model told the show’s host that although the 76-year-old wanted to talk to her, she wasn’t sure if she was ready to have a conversation about her past.

The actress, who recently revealed that she was crossed off Tom Cruise’s cake list, opened up about her abuse at the hands of the entertainment industry in her new movie, which was released earlier this month.

When Barrymore asked if any of the male directors she had worked with previously had reached out to her to discuss their pasts, Shields expressed that she had recently received a call from Kleiser.

She said: I saw his name on my phone, and I said: Oh, what should I do? And I let it go to voicemail because I was like, “I need to see what the tone is.”

The artist then stated that she did not feel as though she wanted to discuss her experiences at the time.

wants to chat. I don’t know what, I don’t feel like doing any of it again.

Shields went on to note that she felt as if she was being used functionally during her early years as a performer.

“It was about, you know, these males needed me to be in a certain category to serve their story and it was never about me, it was never protective of me,” she said.

She concluded by saying that although she had certain fond memories of her early years as an actress, she had come to view many of her past experiences in a negative light.

It was fun and loving at times, but… I was just there. I was a pawn, I was a piece, I was a commodity, she said.

Shields was only 14 years old when she began work on The Blue Lagoon, which was released in 1980.

The actress appeared topless during part of the film, though her breasts were covered by her hair.
