In her book, the Mother of the Bride star delves into the idea that middle-aged women are in control of their own lives and stories.

The former Calvin Klein Jeans model used research and reporting, as well as proven age-related biases, and in the end gives readers an optimistic perspective on her journey into middle age.

“I hope this book can help start a conversation that will benefit us collectively,” Shields said in a statement to People.

“Middle age can be the best time of life – it’s full of possibilities we haven’t been led to believe in. I loved the process of writing this book and can’t wait to share it with readers.”

The cover reveal comes after the Pretty Baby star rocked a bright yellow dress with matching Crocs on the Tony Awards red carpet.

Brooke recently had surgery on both of her toes, so she had to wear some unconventional red carpet footwear.

The Friday before the event, she shared a photo on Instagram of both of her feet in surgical boots.

‘Foot pics are about to get a whole new level… Double toe surgery,’ she revealed to her 2.1 million Instagram fans and followers in the caption.

Brooke has had foot surgeries before. She reportedly had bunion and hammertoe surgery when she was 20 in the 1980s, and again in 2008 when she was 40.

The Pretty Baby star has appeared on Broadway several times during her successful career, including playing Ruth Sherwood in Wonderful Town, Roxie Hart in Chicago, Sally Bowles in Cabaret, Rizzo in Grease and Morticia Addams in the musical The Addams Family.

Eager to define her own journey into middle age, Shields still retains her love of theatre and would love to star in a comedy-drama production, which she said with a smile and a laugh.

“I’m usually a stand-in,” she said, adding, “So that’s exciting for me. If there’s someone who wins the Tony and leaves the show, that’s a huge honor. So, wherever they want me!”
