A pick by Ja’Quan McMillian allowed the Denver Broncos to close the door and put the Cleveland Browns to bed on Monday Night Football.
Teams came and went, with Cleveland looking to ruin Denver’s run for a playoff spot. In the end, Bo Nix and company finished with a 41-32 victory heading into their bye week after four exciting quarters.
The game was very close, with Denver up, 34-32, as the clock ticked down to the final two minutes.
After Browns quarterback Jameis Winston threw a lazy pass to Elijah Moore, McMillian flew in to intercept. Landing on his back, the cornerback got up and returned the ball 44 yards to ice the victory.
Their defense would once again be the key to victory in the final seconds as Cody Barton put the nail in the coffin of the game.
As Winston looked to keep the Browns alive, Barton recorded the Broncos’ third interception of the night and embarked on a 47-yard sprint, his victory lap after iceing victory, before being stopped.
It would be too late for Cleveland, however, as they moved to 3-9 with the loss. On the other hand, the Broncos moved to 8-5 and are in third place in the AFC West.
Results aside, both quarterbacks shined in the game, as Nix and Winston, down to three interceptions, kept their teams afloat throughout the contest.
