Broncos SACK landed star TC Robati in trouble on the eve of the NRL season after a series of off-field incidents – including an allegation of sexual assault

The Broncos have fired troubled young star Teui ‘TC’ Robati ahead of the NRL season after a series of off-field incidents.
Brisbane detained the 21-year-old in late December last year after he was charged with sexual assault following an alleged incident with a woman at a nightclub on December 21.
Robati was subsequently charged with alleged driving without a license on January 26 after being stopped by police in the northern Brisbane suburb of Stafford and slapped in March with a notice to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court.
The Broncos confirmed they had parted ways with the backrower with a brief statement in their roster announcement for the 2023 NRL season.
“As part of the process of finalizing this season’s squad, striker TC Robati has been released from his contract with the club,” the statement said.

Brisbane reported both incidents to the NRL Integrity Unit as soon as they became aware of the matters.
“We have accepted TC’s position to shut down all club activities,” said Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy after the Broncos pulled Robati late last year.
“There is now a legal process and it must be respected and adhered to.
“We fully recognize that this is a serious matter and as a club we strongly oppose any situation where personal boundaries are crossed with members of the public.”
Robati made his Broncos debut in round 12 of the 2021 season, making a total of 10 appearances for Brisbane in that campaign. He played seven games last season and reportedly has a contract with Red Hill until the end of 2024.
His departure makes for a difficult off-season for the Broncos, who have lost a large number of players.

Te Maire Martin has joined the Warriors, while Tyson Gamble and Jake Turpin have signed for the Knights and Roosters respectively and Zac Hosking has moved to Penrith.
Tesi Niu and Brenko Lee joined the Dolphins, while David Mead and Ryan James both retired.
Brisbane’s only major signing, Reece Walsh, faces a race against time to be fit in time for the Broncos’ trip to Penrith on Friday night after suffering a broken face earlier this month.
