Brittany Mahomes posed for Sports Illustrated Swimmer’s 60th anniversary issue, and the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick announced her photo shoot just days before the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
Mahomes, 28, shared a video of her posing on a beach in San Pedro, Belize, with SI describing her as “unapologetically herself” before joining as a 2024 rookie for their May issue.
“I really feel very honored and still in disbelief,” Mahomes told the publication.
‘As a girl from Tyler, Texas, who really only knew sports, I never in a million years thought I’d be in the SI swimsuit issue. “I am very grateful for this opportunity.”
Mahomes has seen her fame skyrocket by becoming one of Taylor Swift’s ‘best friends’ since the singer began dating Travis Kelce, one of Mahomes’ teammates on the Chiefs.
The two often sit together at Chiefs games at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City; They’ve even celebrated touchdowns with their own handshakes.
And away from the sport that brought them together, they often dined in New York, near Swift’s Manhattan home.
But Mahomes is also known for her work in football. She was also a player during her time at the University of Texas at Tyler and spent time on a team in Iceland in 2017.
She retired in 2017 and started her own fitness brand, but is also co-owner and founder of the women’s NWSL team Kansas City Current, in which Patrick also has a stake.
The team will inaugurate its own women’s soccer stadium in March, a historic moment.
“These women deserve to feel important and have their own facilities so they can perform at their best,” Mahomes said.
‘I hope this sets the standard for women’s sports everywhere and that other cities continue to build around women’s sports. Just as young boys dream of playing soccer in stadiums like Arrowhead, I want girls around the world to aspire to play in stadiums like CPKC.’
But for now, the entire Mahomes family’s attention is on Sunday’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas, where the Chiefs take on the 49ers.
Mahomes has struck up a friendship with Taylor Swift since she started dating Travis Kelce.
The couple has often sat together in a VIP suite for Chiefs games during the NFL season.
This weekend, Brittany will cheer on her husband Patrick and the Chiefs at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
Patrick is seeking his third Super Bowl victory as his team looks to join an elite list of teams that have won consecutive titles.
Brittany, who is already in Las Vegas for the game, and Patrick met and started dating in high school and have two children together: a son and a daughter. They got married in 2022.
However, it is still unclear whether he will have a seat next to Taylor for the game.
He is currently in the middle of a four-date Eras Tour in Tokyo, Japan, which ends Saturday night. But Japan is 17 hours ahead of Las Vegas, meaning time is on Swift’s side if she continues the trip, as expected.
