Another celebrity has joined Chiefs Kingdom, as Brittany Mahomes convinced Post Malone to wear a team jacket during the Kansas City Super Bowl after-party, and fans were stunned by the singer’s change of allegiance.
Malone, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, was in Las Vegas to perform one of three anthems played at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday: America the Beautiful.
But he joined the Chiefs after their 25-22 overtime victory against the San Francisco 49ers, while performing on stage alongside Marshmello and The Chainsmokers at XS Nightclub.
The 28-year-old hitmaker, who hails from the Dallas suburb of Grapevine, Texas, was even willing to put aside his Cowboys fandom for just one song. Malone’s father, Rich, was the Cowboys’ concessions manager in the early 2000s.
But footage from the afterparty initially showed Mahomes taking center stage to persuade Malone to trade in his Cowboys jacket for a Chiefs one.
Brittany Mahomes had to convince Post Malone to get rid of his Cowboys jacket first and foremost
Brittany was ecstatic to see Malone wearing a Chiefs jacket at the team’s after-party at XS nightclub on the Las Vegas Strip.
It took some convincing, as Malone refused to take it off. He was also surprised when Mahomes tired to take the Cowboys jacket off his back as a way to make things easier for him.
Malone then agreed to wear Kansas City red, but gestured several times to Mahomes to wear her quarterback husband’s team jacket for no more than one song.
X fans, formerly Twitter, and the people at XS praised Malone for making fun of the situation.
‘I love Post Malone! He was so nice to put on the Chiefs jacket lol,” one user wrote.
“Post Malone is the coolest man,” another tweeted.

The American rapper and singer put on his Cowboys jacket later and wore it to the game.
‘I love this!! HE is part of the Kingdom (of Chiefs) now. As a Texan I understand it, but he can wear red. hahaha,’ said a woman.
Others referred to the shared history between the Chiefs and Cowboys as a sign that Malone was willing to wear Kansas City red.
“To be fair, the Chiefs were in Dallas before the Cowboys even existed, so it’s not that bad,” one person shared.
Malone previously got an infamous Chiefs tattoo after losing to Mahomes’ husband Patrick and Travis Kelce in a beer pong bet in 2020.
