Singapore Airlines has been named by the British as the best airline in the world.
The award comes from a YouGov survey in which it ranks first among 28 major airlines in net customer satisfaction.
In total, 74 per cent said they were satisfied with Singapore Airlines, putting it ahead of Emirates in second place with a score of 71.9 per cent.
In third place is Air New Zealand (70 per cent), followed by Virgin Atlantic in fourth place (63.9 per cent) and Jet2 rounding out the top five with a slightly lower satisfaction rating: 63.8 per cent.
Qatar Airways (sixth, 62 percent) follows, then Cathay Pacific (seventh, 59 percent), Etihad Airways (eighth, 59 percent) and Norwegian (ninth, 57 percent).
British Airways comes in tenth thanks to a satisfaction score of 52.6 percent.
The UK’s flag carrier fares best in a ranking that reflects which airlines respondents are considering booking with in the next 12 months.
Just over 52 per cent of Brits said they were likely to book a flight with British Airways in the next year, making it No. 1 in the top 10 ranking.

EasyJet comes in second, with 49 per cent of Brits surveyed considering booking a flight with the budget airline in the next 12 months.
Jet2 (third, 37 percent), Ryanair (fourth, 32 percent) and Virgin Atlantic (fifth, 31 percent) complete the top five.
Emirates (sixth, 28 percent), TUI Airways (seventh, 27 percent) and KLM (eighth, 20 percent) are the next most “considered” airlines.
Qatar Airways (ninth, 19.7 percent) and Etihad Airways (10th, 18 percent) round out the top 10.
However, these results will of course be influenced by the destinations served and fleet size.
