Britney Spears recalls the first time she met Taylor Swift during her Oops!… I Did It Again Tour.
The “Toxic” singer shared side-by-side images of her and Swift in 2003 before the “Anti-Hero” singer released her first, self-titled album, and five years later in 2008. Spears recalled that while on her While on tour, a friend of hers introduced her to this young girl who wanted to be a singer.
“This was a long time ago, but pretty cool… During my Oops Tour there was a knock on my door,” Spears wrote in the caption of the post. “My good friend at the time was my manager’s assistant who was trying to become a manager himself. There was a knock and then he said, “I’ve got a girl named Taylor who wants to come in and sing for you.”
She continued, “I thought of course!!! He comes in and she sings a beautiful song with her guitar. I thought, wow, wow, she’s incredible!!! We had our picture taken and she became the most iconic pop woman of our generation. Pretty cool that she’s playing stadiums, and I prefer her videos to movies. She’s gorgeous !!! Girls in love.”
Spears’ message comes in the days after Swift launched the international leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour, which kicked off in March in Glendale, Arizona and ended on August 9 after a six-night stay at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
After three overnight stays in major cities across the country, the “All Too Well” singer went around the world with her first Eras Tour international stop in Argentina on November 9. She will also stop in places like Tokyo, Sydney, Singapore, Paris, Madrid and London, among others, over the next year.
