britney spears is stronger than yesterday after a shocking surprise visit at Christmas of their two estranged children, Sean and Jayden Federline.
The Lucky singer, 43, shared her joy on Instagram yesterday by posting a video with Jayden, 18 – who, along with her older brother Sean, 19 – is the result of her two-year marriage to the rap artist Kevin Federline, 46, who finished in 2007.
Although Sean was not seen in the video, sources who spoke to DailyMail.com revealed that his firstborn was, in fact, very present much to Britney’s surprise.
A source said: ‘Sean and Jayden surprised Britney at Christmas and she was absolutely impressed.
‘Needless to say, she was a happily sobbing mess and couldn’t recover because of how happy she was. It was so sweet.’
In an emotional clip shared with her 42 million Instagram followers, Britney could be seen kissing Jayden on the cheek.
Britney Spears, 43, was “blown away” by the visit on Christmas Day from her two sons: Sean Federline, 19, and Jayden Federline, 18 (seen inside her home this month).
Britney has been separated from her two children for over two years and this was the first time the three of them were together (Britney was seen kissing Jayden yesterday).
Although Sean was not seen in Britney’s Christmas video, sources who spoke to DailyMail.com revealed that his firstborn was, in fact, very present for Britney’s surprise.
She captioned the video: ‘Best Christmas ever!!! I haven’t seen my kids in 2 years!!!’ Tears of joy and literally in shock every day crazy koo koo so in love and blessed!!! I’m left speechless, thank you Jesus!!!’
It’s been more than two years since Sean and Jayden came face to face with their mother, who was released from a 13-year conservatorship in 2019.
Since regaining her freedom, the Toxic singer has received a lot of negative criticism for her over-the-top Instagram videos.
Some of these videos, in which she often appears exhausted, show her dancing in her living room. A disturbing video showed her holding a fake knife.
In other videos, Britney makes her sexuality a central focus, and the singer often appears topless. In a recent documentary, both Sean and Jayden said these disturbing videos bothered them.
“For the past two years, she has tried so hard to become the mother they needed,” the source told DailyMail.com.
‘They stopped looking at her social media completely and started focusing only on how she treated them because they know that social media is just her playing a character.
DailyMail.com has contacted Britney’s representatives.
In the video, Jayden offered a cheerful ‘Hello’ followed by the two wishing their fans a ‘Merry Christmas.’
She captioned the clip: ‘Best Christmas ever! I haven’t seen my children in two years! Tears of joy and literally in shock every day crazy koo koo, so in love and blessed!’
Britney was married to Sean and Jayden’s father, Kevin Federline, from 2004 to 2007. After paying $20,000 a month in child support for 17 years, it ended last month (seen in 2005).
Britney has been traveling the world in recent months, sharing photos of herself smiling and looking comfortable (photo taken during her recent vacation in Mexico)
“Britney’s outward projection of what she shows to the world is not her, and Sean and Jayden know it. It never has been. They love their mother and will continue to be there for her,” the source added.
In June, DailyMail.com was the first to report that Britney rekindled her relationship with her children. At the time, she shared on her Instagram that she was texting with both of them.
In August 2023, Kevin, Sean and Jayden moved to Hawaii, along with Kevin’s wife of 10 years, Victoria Prince, and their two daughters, Jordan, 12, and Payton, nine.
Following Britney’s divorce from Kevin in 2007, she embarked on a very public crisis. Kevin was granted sole custody of the children just weeks before she was placed under guardianship in 2008.
Her life and finances were controlled by her dad, Jamie Spears, 72, during that time and although she was able to see her children, it was at Kevin’s whim.
In an exclusive interview for ITV in August 2022, Kevin confirmed that Britney had not seen her children for almost six months, and that the couple did not attend her wedding to Sam Asghari in June of that year.
Jayden stressed that there was “no hate” between the children and their mother, but admitted that it will “take a lot of time and effort” to repair their fractured relationship.
The teen added: “I 100 percent believe this can be solved.” It will just take a lot of time and effort.
‘I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better, I really want to see her again.’
For 17 years, Britney paid Kevin almost $20,000 a month in child support.
Several months after the ITV interview aired, Sean turned 18, which was the age at which child support awarded to Kevin on his behalf ceased.
A year later, in September 2024, Britney’s child support payments made to Kevin on Jayden’s behalf ended.
The singer made her final payment to Kevin a month ago, in November.
In recent months, Britney’s fortune has skyrocketed due, in part, to Universal Pictures purchasing the rights to her upcoming biopic The Woman In Me to turn into a feature film.
