Diminished and despondent, Britney Spears’ father has been seen for the first time since they resolved their long legal battle over the end of the infamous conservatorship that controlled nearly every aspect of her life for more than a decade.
Exclusive images and video obtained by DailyMail.com and seen here for the first time today show Jamie Spears, 71, in a wheelchair while visiting a medical center about 40 minutes from her home in Kentwood, Louisiana.
Jamie’s right leg was amputated above the knee late last year after he suffered a bacterial infection that put him in hospital and almost cost him his life.
Now these pictures show the toll that illness and years of fighting with his famous daughter have taken on the once robust Jamie, who has not been photographed in public since late last year.
Jamie Spears was seen in public for the first time since resolving his years-long battle with superstar daughter Britney Spears in April.
The 71-year-old used a wheelchair when he left North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, Louisiana, on Tuesday after his leg was amputated in November.
Previously, Jamie visited two drive-thru pharmacies in Kentwood, the small Louisiana town that once proudly promoted itself as the birthplace of Britney Spears, but where those signs no longer exist.
Driven by a woman who appeared to be his caregiver, Jamie sat in the passenger seat as the couple spent several minutes at the drive-thru windows of two pharmacies before driving to the Dollar Store on the outskirts of town.
Jamie, whose mobility is now severely limited, remained in the vehicle while his assistant ran errands.
The couple then made a 40-minute drive from Kentwood to Hammond, about 35 miles away, where Spears had an appointment at North Oaks Medical Center Diagnostic Center.
Upon arriving at the center, his assistant brought Jamie the wheelchair he now relies on and pushed him through the double doors of the facility.
He emerged only about 20 minutes later, wheeling the wheelchair to the waiting vehicle and wearing a blue ribbon on his left arm, suggesting blood was drawn during the brief appointment.

Jamie appears to have lost weight since he was last photographed in December, shortly after surgery to amputate his right leg.
The father-of-three was taken by an attendant upon arrival but was seen walking alone as he left.

The father-daughter duo’s lengthy legal battle finally came to an end in April with a settlement that requires Britney to pay Jamie’s legal bills, which are said to total more than $2 million.
It’s been two months since Jamie and her daughter reached an agreement over lingering issues surrounding the end of the conservatorship that controlled nearly every aspect of her life for nearly 14 years.
The settlement meant avoiding what many had predicted would be a long, ugly and revealing trial over final payments to lawyers who helped operate the conservatorship and her father’s alleged financial misconduct and excessive surveillance of Britney.
Terms of the settlement have not been disclosed, but legal documents filed in Los Angeles in April confirmed that Jamie had been “fully and ultimately terminated as former conservator of the estate” and that Britney must pay her father’s $2 million legal fees. .
Clearly unhappy with the outcome that saw her not hold her father accountable for the “harm” she alleges he inflicted on her over the years, Britney took to Instagram following the settlement.
She posted: ‘My family hurt me! There has been no justice and there probably never will be!’
Britney was placed under conservatorship in 2008, where her father managed her financial and personal affairs due to concerns for her mental health.
In recent years, #FreeBritney became a cause célèbre and the singer was finally freed from her father’s control and conservatorship when the agreement ended in 2021.
But in the years since, concern has grown over Britney’s increasingly erratic behavior, and just last month it was reported that family members are pushing for her to be placed in the care of a new conservatorship.
Earlier, Jamie visited two drive-thru pharmacies in Kentwood, the small Louisiana town that once proudly promoted itself as the birthplace of his pop star daughter.
The medical center in Hammond, Louisiana, is about 40 minutes from Jamie Spears’ home in Kentwood.
Concerns have been mounting about Britney’s increasingly erratic behavior and strange Instagram posts since she was released from conservatorship control in 2021.
The Toxic singer has had a strained relationship with her family in recent years. Dad Jamie, now 71, brother Bryan, 46, sister Jamie Lynn, 32, and mom Lynne, 69, appear in the photo of her with Britney in 2003.
The 42-year-old singer has been accused of refusing her mental health medications while drinking and using other drugs, raising fears of a relapse given her history of substance abuse.
After her brief marriage to her third husband, Sam Ashgari, 30, ended with the couple separating after 14 months in August 2023 and a divorce finalized last month, she is said to allow her boyfriend criminal Paul Soliz ‘runs his house and his life.’
Soliz, 37, has been charged with multiple misdemeanors and at least one felony: possession of a firearm in December 2022.
He returned to court in September 2023 for allegedly violating his probation.
And, as fears grow about the health of that relationship, those closest to Britney say she can’t be reasoned with because her “mood swings often turn into rages that end in physical violence.”
Meanwhile, her Instagram posts in which she dances naked or nearly naked are increasingly worrying.
Last month, TMZ reported that multiple sources had reached out with concerns that her “mental health is in a tailspin” and fear the only way forward is to place the mother of two under another conservatorship.
The site claimed that she is “in danger of harming herself or others,” adding that “there are times when we are told that it is impossible to communicate with her because she cannot engage in a rational conversation.”
