A young woman from the UK, now living in Sydney, has shared a long list of things she doesn’t like about Australia, although she admits that living in Australia still has positive aspects.

Amy, who moved to Australia in September last year, shared a light-hearted rant about the country in a video on social media.

Amy’s first point was one that all Australians can relate to, especially during the current cost of living crisis.

“The price of fruits and vegetables,” Amy wrote.

‘£1.20 (almost AUD$2.40) for a lime?! Am I made of money?

Your second point was “how long do traffic lights take to turn green for pedestrians (compared to the UK, it seems like YEARS).”

Another complaint was the number of flies in Australia.

Amy was also baffled by the cost of obtaining a Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate in New South Wales.

Amy from the UK, now living in Sydney, has shared a long list of things she doesn’t like about Australia.

“To sell, serve or supply alcohol in New South Wales, you must complete an RSA training course.”

He was surprised to discover that the price of the RSA course was almost $120.

‘Why am I paying to get a job?’ Amy wrote.

Amy’s next point was the price of food and the lack of supermarkets.

“In Aus we only have two options, sometimes three.”

“In the UK there are about eight, so there’s a lot more variety and you can compare cheaper prices.”

As for buying alcohol, Amy would prefer to have it available in supermarkets, rather than having to go to a separate bottle shop.

“While there are many more alcohol options, I would prefer the convenience of simply adding it to my grocery cart,” she wrote.

He also shared his fear of Australian magpies and said they were scary.

Not like normal magpies in the UK. They attack.’

He pointed out how far Australia is from the United Kingdom and shared a photo of a sign indicating that London is 15,110 kilometers away, as another of his complaints about the country.

Finally, Amy wrote in her post how the Nivea facial cleanser she used to buy in the UK for £2.50 (around AUD$5) is selling for AUD$13 at Woolworths.

He also missed spending time with his family on his parents’ boat, enjoying his mother’s cooking and hanging out with his friends in the UK.

However, there I also had a list of things I loved about Australia.

‘The coffee is much better and often much cheaper. But why do they all close so early? he asked his social media followers.

He listed chicken salt, cockatoos, acai bowls, active lifestyle, Tim Tams, markets, ferries as public transportation, Glassons clothing store, the Opera and the weather as some of his favorite things about Australia.
