A British tourist died after being pulled out of the swimming pool of a holiday apartment on Tenerife.
Paramedics tried to breathe new life into the man with a defibrillator after people on the spot had dragged him out of the water and initial attempts were made to help him.
But there was nothing they could do to save his life and he was pronounced dead by the side of the pool.

The tourist complex where the incident took place is locally named as Golf del Sur in the municipality of San Miguel de Abona near the main holiday airport of the island.
The alarm was lifted around 4.30 on Thursday, although the nationality of the tourist, a 67-year-old man who did not mention the police, was only confirmed today.
The circumstances surrounding the drowning and how it ended up in the water were not made public.
Police sources said there was nothing to indicate that death was suspicious.
The Civil Guard has prepared a report on the incident for a local investigating judge who leads a routine probe to the incident.

A spokesman for a regional medical emergency coordination center of the regional government, who spoke before it was confirmed that the dead was a 67-year-old British, said: & # 39; Thursday around 4:30 a.m. we received a call from Golf Del Sur in the San municipality. Miguel de Arona, saying that a person had been pulled out of the pool unconscious at some apartments.
